Is there a cost to participate?

As a non-profit satellite for Kids Against Hunger, we are responsible to raise all of our funds to purchase ingredients and equipment and supplies such as bags, boxes, hair nets, hand sanitizer, and cleaners. By combining our efforts with other satellites and purchasing in bulk, we are able to keep our food costs as low as possible.

One meal costs approximately 25 cents. On average, each volunteer packages approximately 150-180 meals per hour depending on their age and experience, which represents approximately $30 -$36 that we must raise per packager per event. We ask all groups to fundraise or look for a sponsor to help defer the cost of their event.

How do you raise the money for your food?

It costs Kids Against Hunger about 25¢ to buy the ingredients, packaging, and shipping for each meal. As a nonprofit organization we raise all our funds from the generosity of individual donors, corporations, churches, synagogues, and foundations. Put simply, the more money we receive from donors, the more children we can feed.
